APPLICATION:
GIPS-MAL is an acrylic interior paint recommended for painting
plasterboards, plaster surfaces and interior walls and ceilings.
It is used mainly as a primer and decorative paint for plasterboards
and other plaster surfaces. The increased content of acrylic
dispersion gives this paint superb primer characteristics (smoothing
the surface and regulating absorption), and makes it resistant
to abrasion and detergents. The deep penetration of this coating
strengthens plasterboard. It creates a tough, smooth snow-white
surface with an aesthetic matt look. It is easy to apply with
a roller and spray. It does not contain solvents.
A single coating covers the surface and a double layer gives
an improved finish. The plastic properties of GIPS-MAL make
it ideal to cover (to a certain extent), defects such as cracks
and splits caused by improper mounting.
PREPARING SURFACES:
GIPS-MAL requires a dry set surface, cleaned of grease, dust
and pealing existing coatings, smooth and crack free. In case
of grease spots, apply Aktiv
grunt (Active Primer). Surfaces painted previously with
glue paints should be thoroughly cleaned to the original surface.
Surfaces painted previously with emulsion paints should be washed
with water containing a detergent. Absorbent surfaces should
be primed with a light coating of Aktiv
grunt (Active Primer) or with Reno
grunt (Reno Primer).
With highly absorptive surfaces, G.M. can be diluted with drinking
water
in a ratio 1:1.
Note:
Painting a weak surface might cause bubbles and peeling
Plasters and various surfaces containing cement & lime require
a 28-day carbonisation period. Skipping this might totally destroy
the finish of the fresh paint coating.
USAGE:
The paint should be thoroughly mixed before use (do not use
high speed mixers). G.M. can be applied with various tools
(brush, roller or spray), but for painting with brush you
should thin the paint with drinking water (approx 0.05 - 0.1
litre of water to 1 litre of paint) especially on surfaces
with high porosity. For decorative effect 2 coats of paint
are normally required. For refreshing a previous white coating,
a single fresh coat is normally sufficient (a single even
layer with a roller).
A subsequent layer can be applied normally after 2 - 3 hrs
under standard room conditions (20°C and 60% humidity).
Note:
Recommended types of roller: flock, velour and wool
EFFICIENCY:
Average usage for a single coating approx. 0.14 l/m2, although
smooth and low absorptive surfaces (e.g.: plasterboard sheets)
0.1- 0.12 l/m2 is possible.
However highly porous surfaces the usage can rise to as much
as 0.17 l/m2.
STORAGE, USE AND TRANSPORT:
G.M. should be stored, used and transported in its originally
closed packaging at a temperature of +5° - +35°C (also
includes surface temperature) and in clean dry conditions.
Protect from frost.
BEST BEFORE:
1 year from date of production
SAFETY:

S26 In the event of eye contact wash with large quantities
of water and consult your doctor.
